Brief history of the eternity ring.
An eternity ring is quite simply a ring that is most commonly made in gold or platinum and set with precious gemstones all the way around the band.
Most commonly the stones are diamonds, however it is not uncommon to see them set with alternating rubies and diamonds or sapphires and diamonds.
Often given for an anniversary, years ago it was often the 40th or 10 year anniversary, however today it is quite common to be given as a 1st year anniversary or for the birth of a child.
