Here is a very beautiful solid opal ring made by the early Australian company Saunders in the 1920's and set with a magnificent solid black opal from Lightning Ridge.
Not only does Australia produce the most opals in the world, but Australian opals are also regarded as the best in the world, with the Lightning Ridge black opal the best of the best.
This opal is just so beautiful to admire and is complimented perfectly by the elegant setting in 9 carat rose and white gold. The detail on the side is wonderful to admire and the opal measures 13.1mm by 8.5mm and from one end where the white gold starts, across to the other side, this distance measures 20mm across.
The wonderful spectral colours coming from the opal is amazing covering all the colours from a rich blue to wonderful specks of green and red, showcasing just why Australian black opals are regarded so highly.
From every angle this opal is just magnificent and will no doubt always be admired.

This ring was hand made in the 1920's but the early Australian jewellery company, Saunders.
Saunders were a jewellery company that started in 1884 until merging with Angus & Coote in the 1970’s giving this pocket watch a bit of wonderful Australian history.
