Art Nouveau era heart shaped locket

A heart shaped locket. Can there be anything more romantic and meaningful as having a photo of people that you love around your neck every day? And this antique heart shaped locket from the Art Nouveau period is simply magnificent.
Made in France in the early 1900's, this heart shaped photo locket was made in 18ct gold. However instead of just being one colour, the locket is made in a wonderful satin finish yellow gold and the highlighted with two pearl set flowers designs made in green gold.
Green gold was rarely used throughout history and was at its most popular in the Art Nouveau period and matched well with the flowing lines characteristic of this era as can be seen here in this locket.
The green gold is such a delightful soft colour that set against the rich yellow gold really helps to accentuate it.

The locket is double sided meaning that two photos can be put inside and the locket measures 24.1mm across by 28.7mm high or 32.3mm to the top bail where the chain would slide through.

Art Nouveau jewellery of the late 19th Century, early 20th Century has such wonderful flowing lines and this antique heart shaped locket made in both yellow and green gold is just amazing and still in superb condition even well after 100 years and will still look so good around someones neck with photos of loved one inside and there is nothing quite like an antique locket just for this.
