This antique pocket watch from the 1870's will be loved and admired forever.
Made by the Swiss firm Bovet, it was made for the Chinese market and has a few unique features against the Swiss pocket watches for the Western market.
The most amazing feature is the exhibition window in the reverse to show the wonderful movement highlighted further by the extensive engraving. From here it can be wound and the time set.
The inside of the back case has Chinese markings meaning "Bovet" (Bo-vay), and the pocket watch case itself measures a impressive 53mm across.
The white enamel dial is all original and in wonderful condition, and from here it displays the sweep seconds instead of the seconds being smaller at the traditional 6 o'clock position.
Overall this is a fantastic unusual antique pocket watch that will be admired and envied.
