Guilloché enamel is when the piece has a pattern engraved into the surface prior to being fired in the kiln resulting in not only a wonderful enamel, but also the wonderful pattern to add to the beauty.
This can be seen in this very elegant antique locket dating from the Edwardian period of the early 1900's. Made in 15ct rose gold, the locket has the most divine guilloché enamel with an engine turned pattern further highlighted with a white enamel border and a pearl in the centre.
On the other side reveals a compartment to hold a photo of a loved one making this not only very beautiful and also very personal at the same time.
Measuring 29mm in diameter by 38mm from the bottom to the very top of the bail, this is such an elegant and refined guilloché enamel locket that looks as vibrant today as when it was made over 100 years ago.
