Engagement ring with antique diamonds in our 16 carat gold and platinum

Here is a truly magnificent and very unique handmade reproduction engagement ring set with antique diamonds.

Today rings can be made in two ways - either mass produced cast made using a wax carving either carved by hand or CAD designed, or hand made. The advantage of a ring that has been hand made is in the quality and detail. Not only is the gold or platinum stronger as there is no air bubbles or porosity often found in cast made rings, but the detail that can be achieved can be breathtaking.

With this ring, not only was it handmade to an extremely high standard, but it was made using techniques employed by jewellers over 100 years ago.

Sitting proudly in the centre is a vibrant antique European cut diamond that measures 0.57 carats and is H in colour and Si in clarity and has the unique charm and character of being a diamond that was cut by hand over 100 years ago. The side diamonds are the early single cut diamonds and total 0.13 carats and were millgrain set which can be seen in the elegant crimping along the setting, which was a popular technique years ago.
