What a truly magnificent clock and work of art!
Fine quality spelter figure clocks such as this one don't often come along very often and even less often made with such large proportions.
Measuring 53.5cm (w) x 21cm (d) x a very impressive 75cm (h), this is one clock that will stand out from all the others.
The wonderful French clock not only tells the time perfectly but strikes on the hour and half hour with a wonderful soft chime. THe clock itself measures 10cm with the dial measuring 8.5cm, and it has those wonderful hands complimenting that beautiful hand painted dial.
From that magnificent stag standing so tall and regal on the top, to the dainty doe casually eating some leaves, the attention to detail is superb.
Created by French artist Louis-Albert Carvin around 1910, this piece is both signed on the figures and on the marble base and is titled, "Cert et Biche" meaning Stag & Doe.
This is a very serious clock for the discerning collector out there who is after something unique, special and above all spectacular.
