Natural zircon is an amazing stone to look at and should not be confused with the man-made synthetic cubic zirconia, and here is an amazing natural green zircon and diamond cluster ring that was made in the Art Deco period of the 1920's.
Hand made in 18 carat yellow and rose gold for a wonderful point of difference, in the centre sits the amazing zircon that measures 1.17 carats in weight. The reason that zircon looks so good is that it has an extremely high refractive index - the speed of light as it enters and exits the gemstone - which makes it sparkle so great. The colour of this zircon is just amazing and really unlike any other green gemstone such as emerald, peridot or tourmaline. The colour looks even better on the finger and then with the zircon surrounded by fourteen single cut diamonds as well as a further single cut diamond set on each side. These diamonds come together to total 0.48 carats and the cluster section measures 11.7mm by 9mm across.
With such a unique and wonderful gemstone in the centre, this Art Deco ring is truly as unique as it is beautiful.

Natural green zircon and diamond Art Deco cluster ring
Zircon is a natural gemstone and should not be confused with the synthetic cubic zirconia. The refractive index of natural zircon is extremely high which is why it has such a magnificent sparkle to it. This halo design ring was hand made during the Art Deco period that was from the 1920's to the 1940's and resulted in some incredible designs in not only jewellery, but architecture, furniture and cars that have remained as popular today as when they were made.
