Here is a very collectable vintage Omega pocket watch that was ingeniously made to convert as a table clock.
Made in 1934, this Omega pocket watch is call the "Diplomat" and has the original dial with the two colour combination and sub-seconds at the bottom.
So many of these Omega Diplomat pocket watches are having their dials repainted so it is wonderful to source one that is completely original.
The design of the case is wonderful with a hinge that so easily swings out at the rear allowing it to stand so easily on a table.
The case measures 50mm across by 57.4mm to the very top of the bow, and feels so wonderful in the palm of your hand.
Inside is a 15 jewelled manual wind Omega calibre 38.5L.T1 that has just come back from a full service and restoration and runs perfectly and comes with our 1 year warranty.
To complete the pocket watch it also comes complete with its original Omega box which is becoming so hard to obtain.
This is a great collectable vintage Omega pocket watch that will be so hard to find another with its original box in this condition with the original dial.

When we expanded and renovated our store in late 2022, we put in not only a full watchmaking and polishing workshop, but two watchmakers. Our head watchmaker, Lorenzo Del Rosso, used to used to work for Tag Heuer, LVMH and then Rolex, before coming to Kalmar Antiques. We also now an authorised Omega watch service centre. This allows us to be able to service your Omega watch to full Omega specifications.
Along with Omega watches, we can service other watches such as Longines, Breitling, Cartier and Patek Philippe to name a few.
How often should I service my Omega?
As per official OMEGA guidelines, the service frequency depends on the use of the watch and the environment in which it is worn. The water resistance can, for example, be affected by the aging of the gaskets or by an accidental shock. Therefore, we recommend that you have the water resistance checked once a year and a complete service performed every 5 to 8 years.
Kalmar Antiques are now an authorised OMEGA watch service centre. We are based in the heart of Sydney in the Queen Victoria Building.
Taking your watch to an authorised OMEGA watch service centre such as Kalmar Antiques, will ensure that not only is your watch serviced to the highest standards, but only genuine Omega parts are used. This will also allow the watch to be covered by a two year warranty.
