Platinum Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring from the 1920’s

$0.00

Platinum was embraced by many jewellers of the 1920’s Art Deco era for many reasons including its wonderful ability to be drawn into a fine wire all the while retaining the strength needed to secure the gemstones.
And here is a stunning Art Deco ring dating from the 1920’s.

Hand made in platinum the ring is set with 3 semi-modern cut diamonds that total 0.42 carats and are highlighted by 8 fancy cut synthetic sapphires.
Synthetic sapphires were first invented in the late 1800’s and were embraced by jewellers and the public alike.
The advantage of using these were the jeweller was able to obtain fancy cut sapphires that would have been so hard to source otherwise.

Then surrounding the sapphires in such fine detail are 18 rose cut diamonds that total 0.12 carats.
The detail that can be seen in this ring is just amazing and why so many Art Deco rings are highly sought after.

From one end where the ring goes down to the band across to the other, this distance measures 19.4mm by 10.4mm wide at the centre.

This ring would suit any finger including making a magnificent example of an Art Deco engagement ring.
