The Are Deco era of the 1920's was an era of sublime elegance and decadence that resulted in some truly beautiful pieces of jewellery such as this very elegant Art Deco diamond brooch that was hand made in 18ct yellow gold and platinum.
The combination of gold and platinum was a popular combination for a lot of the jewellery of the Art Deco era, as the pieces of jewellery could be made from the 18ct gold and the diamonds set into the pure white colour of the platinum.
Art Deco brooches always are so easy to wear especially one as simple and elegant as this one in a bar form and making it more special is of course the 7 diamonds set into it.
The centre old European cut diamond is set with 3 rose cut diamonds on each side, and the setting of all the diamonds are milgrain set with that very elegant "crimping" around the setting which was another popular technique seen in Art Deco jewellery.
The centre diamond measures 0.62 carats and the smaller rose cut diamonds total 0.06 carats giving this Art Deco brooch the right amount of sparkle without either having too much or too little.
Measuring 5.3cm across, this Art Deco diamond brooch also comes with its original fitted box by John Angell of Dover.
This is such an elegant Art Deco diamond brooch so typical of the fine jewellery created in the 1920's and one that is so easy to wear all the time and and always look so refined.
