The term "pristine" and "mint" are words that are used far too often with antique pocket watches when they are far from it, however these are two words that can easily be used for this magnificent antique Elgin pocket watch made in 1883.
Made in 14ct gold, both sides of the pocket watch case, the sides, the hinges, the dial and the movement are in exceptional condition with everything in as good condition today as when it was made 130 years ago.
The outside of the gold case has a bird scene on both sides, with the front cover having the bird with no eggs in the nest and the back cover there are eggs in a nest below the bird design.
The detail in the pocket watch case is sensational with the gold twist around the border, being continued as a design around the bow as well.
From left to right the case measures 40.6mm by 61.6mm from the very bottom to the top of the bow and is 12.2mm thick.
Opening the front cover reveals the original enamelled dial with Roman numerals each separated by a very elegant pattern and then the sub-seconds at the bottom.
This Elgin pocket watch is a 11 jewelled crown wind lever set movement that runs perfectly and even comes with our 1 year warranty.
This is one of the finest solid gold antique Elgin pocket watches around in a condition that you could only dream of and one that will always be admired for its fine quality.
