Retro ruby and diamond brooch

The Retro period of the 1950's resulted in some truly fabulous and sometimes over the top pieces of jewellery that was so stylish as can be seen here in this incredible and very large Retro ruby and diamond brooch.
Beautifully hand made in 14ct gold and platinum, this brooch measures an impressive 6cm wide by 9.8cm in length. The proportions of this brooch is just incredible and stands out so incredibly well and is destined to always be admired and commented on.
It is not uncommon for jewellery of this era to us synthetic rubies or sapphires, however in this Retro brooch the rubies are all natural and so well matched for colour and transparency and of course the diamonds are also all natural.
At the top there are thirty rubies that have a total weight 3.30 carats and are highlighted by the sixteen baguette cut diamonds that total 1.92 carats.
And then on the "stem" of the flower there are a twenty three more diamonds with the larger ones being early brilliant and the smaller ones single cut diamonds that come together to total 2.24 carats and they add a great amount of sparkle to an already incredible brooch.
No matter the occasion that this brooch is worn, there is no doubt that it will always be admired and make the wearer so proud to own it.
