Rolex Oysterquartz Day-Date President wooden diamond dial 19018

Here is an exceedingly rare Rolex Day-Date President watch that should not be overlooked as anything other than bordering on irreplaceable and one that is in exceptional condition.

This is the Rolex Day-Date President Oysterquartz in solid 18 carat yellow gold including the band. The Rolex Oysterquartz was produced for only 25 years, and with exact numbers produced not known, it is a given that less than 25,000 were ever produced and this also includes the Datejust as well as the Day-Date such as this one here, with more Datejust produced with the Oysterquartz movement than the Day-Date.

Then there is the dial. It doesn't just look like wood - it is wood. A solid wooden dial that shows the most magnificent grain which is highlighted by diamonds which takes it to the next rare feature of this watch.

An extremely limited number of these wooden dials were produced for the Rolex Oysterquartz Day-Date, with even less with a single row of diamonds. However as can be seen, there is not one row of diamonds, but three. The way the diamonds graduate in size around the dial is a true testament to the quality of this watch, and again while exact numbers of this dial are not known, it can easily be surmised that it would be less than 100.

When this exact model was released 19018 in 1980, it cost US$16,500 for the standard champagne dial, not the wood, and certainly not with the three rows of diamonds, giving an idea of just how highly regarded this watch was looked upon.

Inside it is powered by the venerable Rolex calibre 5055 that has been completely serviced by our Rolex trained watchmaker and comes with our one year warranty and of course keeps exceptional time.

Both the case and the band are in fantastic condition and complete with its original Rolex Oysterquartz box and instructions, this truly is a Rolex like no other.

Description

Rolex Oysterquartz Day-Date President wooden diamond dial 19018

Rare Rolex Oysterquartz Day-Date President wooden diamond dial 19018

The Rolex Oysterquartz was produced from 1970 for a brief 25 years and while exact numbers are not known, it is estimated that just 17,000 were ever produced. This includes the Rolex Oysterquartz Datejust as well as the Rolex Oystrquartz Day-Date "President". For this reason, this makes the Rolex Oysterquartz a rare watch to find today. This particular wooden dial is an extremely rare dial to find, and finding one with three rows of diamonds is even harder as it is estimated that there were less than 100 triple row diamond dial wooden dials ever made.

First using the Beta 21 movement, in 1972 Rolex produced and released their in-house made 5053 calibre for the Oysterquartz, and the 5055 for the Oysterquartz Day-Date "President" watch.
