Here is a fantastic pocket watch that has everything going for it.
Made by Rolex in the early 1930’s, it is fitted in a pristine rolled gold engine turned full hunter case that still feels sharp to the touch. The hinge is as new, and the case has never been engraved, including the dust cover in the back.
The dial is 100% original and has no hairline cracks or damage at all, and is signed “Rolex Swiss Made” as well as being signed “Dunklings” who were the retailers of this pocket watch.
With great looking hands and Arabic numerals, it is a very smart watch to look at indeed.
Now the movement! This is the 17 jewelled Rolex Prima movement.
This was introduced from 1928 when Rolex started a new series of balances, and these ultra reliable movements could be adjusted in 6 positions and at all temperatures. It features a micro-regualtor and Breguet over-coil hairspring and is a fantastic example of why Rolex was and still is so highly regarded.
