Here is a very sweet and attractive hardstone cameo ring that was made in 9ct rose gold in Chester in 1921.
Commonly cameos were made in shell which is very good for brooches and earrings, but not so good for rings as it is quite soft, so here the carver of this cameo has used the very hard material, sardonyx.
The top measures 1.2cm by 1.0cm and the cameo itself 1.0cm by 0.9cm, and the ring can easily be resized.
This is a very attractive cameo ring that has the right look and feel to it.
