Stainless steel 1970 IWC Yacht Club with original band

Here is the iconic stainless steel 1970 IWC Yacht Club with original band, that looks as good today as when it was made nearly 50 years ago.

The IWC Yacht Club was launched in the late 1960’s and became an instant success thanks to its large tonneau shaped case and its superb movement inside.

The movement is the highly regarded IWC calibre 8541B which is considered one of the best movements ever produced not only by IWC but any watchmaking company in the world. This IWC  movement was designed by Albert Pellaton who was the technical director of IWC, and this automatic movement has an ingenious system that included the ability for the automatic rotor to wind the watch regardless of which direction the rotor was turning. Fitted with a micro-regulator to guarantee accuracy and this among various other features make this one of the most accurate and well regarded watch movements in any watch back then and even today more than 40 years later.

The dial is so stylish and easy to read with the iconic “International Watch Company Schaffhausen” written in its Italic style font combined with the upper case “IWC” and with the centre sweep seconds and date window the stainless steel case measures 36mm across plus the crown by 42.7mm from end to end.

Fitted with its original IWC stainless steel band that can be adjusted to fit any size wrist, this IWC Yacht Club has all the characteristics and charm of a classic vintage watch.
