Vintage Tiffany & Co diamond tulip brooch by Jean Schlumberger
From 1956 until the late 1970, Jean Schlumberger became one of Tiffany & Co’s most influential designer, and here is a stunning example of his work.
Made in 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, this “Tulip” brooch not only bears his name on the brooch, but is so characteristic of his design, style and unique flair that made him so well known around the world for his pieces that he created for such people as The Duchess of Windsor, Greta Garbo and Jacqueline Kennedy.
With such exquisite detail in the vines that lead to the “buds”, one bud is set with nine round brilliant cut diamonds and the other twelve that come together to total 0.84 carats.
Measuring 42.8mm by 26.4mm, this brooch is as elegant today as when it was first created, and is a wonderfully exciting brooch by one of the 20th Centuries leading designers.
