Victorian Era Tortoiseshell Lorgnette

Pure decadence.
How wonderful is this!

A lovely Victorian lorgnette, made in tortoiseshell, from the 1890's.

With a lovely handle that lets the glass fold over, then slide into the centre, this is really so wonderful.

In great condition, we have had previous customers purchase other ones, and put in their own prescription lenses, making them not only a wonderful talking piece, but practical as well.

Description

What is a lorgnette?

A lorgnette were used as glasses that are mounted onto a handle rather than sitting on the nose and fitting over the ears, and here is a very rare and beautiful antique pique lorgnette that was made in the Victorian era of the 1870's and looks as amazing today as when it was made.
