Very rare antique six sided photo locket made in 18 carat gold

Here is a very rare antique six sided photo locket made in 18 carat gold in France in the early 1900's that is superb to admire when closed as well as when it is open.

Whereas most photo lockets fit two photos, this one fits six and these multiple image lockets are often called "family lockets" as they can often fit in all members of the family.

Made in an ingenious way that simulates a pocket watch, pressing on the top in the same way as a pocket watch will release the catch and the locket then unfolds on its own thanks to the springs in all of the hinges. It is just as beautiful on both sides of the locket allowing either way to face forward and always look so elegant.

Measuring 2.4cm across by 3.6cm to the top of the bow, when opened it fans out to a wonderful 7.5cm across by 10.5cm to the top of the bow, making this a truly exceptional and unique locket.
