Here is a very beautiful and special Victorian era antique turquoise and pearl ring engraved Mizpah inside that has the most incredible detail surrounding the turquoise and pearls.
Made in 15ct gold, this ring dates from the 1890's and has all the charm and characteristics of the late Victorian period. With the lovely natural turquoise set in the centre, many pieces of turquoise today is often dyed or reconstituted whereas in this ring it is completely natural and untreated. And then the pearl on each side add a lovely aspect and colour which stands out beautifully set next to the turquoise.
Measuring 8.1mm wide at the centre by 12mm across from pearl to pearl, inside the band it is hand engraved with the word "Mizpah". The term Mizpah comes from the Book of Genesis and means "May God look after me and thee while we are absent from one another" and was often given during the Victorian era to loved ones who were going away to wish them a safe return.
Both inside and out, this is such a beautiful and special late Victorian ring that will always be loved and cherished.
