Victorian era antique Whitby jet bracelet made in the 1890's

With its dense black colour, tactile feel and alternating panels of smooth and hand engraved sections, this antique Whitby jet bracelet will be perfect to wear for all occasions, day or night.

Whitby jet jewellery such as this one was very popular in the late Victorian era of the 1890's when this was also made, and thanks to the soft curve of each panel and the way it has been strung on an elastic cord, these two features allow it to wrap perfectly around the wrist making it so comfortable.

With eight smooth panels, and eight engraved, the bracelet links measure 31.5mm wide, and will be easily become your "go to" bracelet for any event.

Description

Victorian era antique Whitby jet bracelet made in the 1890's

A brief history on Whitby jet:

Whitby Jet is a fossilized material of a tree called the Araucaria Tree also known as the Monkey Puzzle tree and is dense black in colour, which is where the term "Jet black" came from. Found since 10,000 BC in countries such as Poland, France, Spain and Germany, the best material has always come from the town of Whitby in England.
