Made in the Victorian era of the 1870's, this charming mourning brooch measures 3.9cm across by 3.1cm wide and is made in rolled gold where a sheet of gold is layered under heat and pressure to another metal.
Set in the centre is a oval piece of onyx surrounded by that wonderful foliate design, and then around the border is that wonderful enamel.
With a hair locket in the reverse, this antique mourning brooch is just so charming and typical of a time gone by.
