Vintage Rolex Sea Dweller reference 1665

The Rolex Sea Dweller has become an iconic divers watch, and here is a great looking vintage Rolex Sea Dweller reference 1665 that is not only in wonderful condition but has a dial that has achieved a perfect patina that is so sought after by collectors.

This Rolex Sea Dweller dates from 1978 and features the Type III Sea Dweller dial. Some of the small but notable differences in the Type III dial is the “ft” and “m” are larger and in italic compared to earlier dials and the “ft” stands above the “E” of “SUPERLATIVE”. This was also the first dial to have the "dash" added in the “SWISS – T <25”.

It is the small differences that collectors are always seeking in vintage Rolex watches and really what can govern the price from one to the other. This all white dial - as opposed to the infamous "Double Red" is also affectionately known as the "Great White" dial.

As mentioned earlier, the hands as well as the dial have achieved a perfect patina that is equal and gives a look that is so sought after by collectors combined with the look from the acrylic crystal.
