Art Deco 8 day travel clock with alarm in its original case
Still in superb condition, this is such a wonderful Art Deco travel clock that is fitted with a very high grade movement. Dating from the 1930's, this travel clock not only has a high 8 day power reserve, but it also has an alarm - a lovely feature to find on a travel clock of this vintage. With the white enamel dial still so easy to read, it displays numerals as well as the additional hand for setting the alarm, all of which is housed in its original leather case that has such a wonderful tactile feel to it. The dial measures 6.5cm in diameter and the case then closed measures 9cm by 10cm by approximately 2.5cm tall. Rare antique diamond and enamel ring watch made in the 1870’s
Every once in a while you come across something that is not only so exquisitely beautiful from every angle that you look at it, but unlike anything else out there. Not only is this antique ring watch so exceedingly rare, but it is incredibly beautiful and it was so well made to such an incredibly high standard and is a true testament to the quality of the jewellers and watchmaker that made this over 150 years ago, that it is not only in superb condition but still running today. Made in 18 carat yellow gold in the 1870's, the white enamel dial is all original and in pristine condition. As clean today as when it was made, it was made with black numbers except for the 12 which is in red. With its original hands, the dial is surrounded by twenty eight rose cut diamonds, and the border of diamonds measures 15mm in diameter. With the dial set into the gorgeous lozenge shape top which itself measures 16.6mm across by 25.2mm, the top has been beautifully enamelled in a rich cobalt blue colour that has long been associated with royalty. Even the enamel is in superb condition and each end is set with a further three rose cut diamonds. The diamonds plus the ones around the dial come together to total 0.19 carats and add a delightful amount of sparkle to the ring. Even the side of the top section is so exquisite to admire with the intricate and fine hand engraving, as is the remarkable band that it is sitting on with the split designed shoulders with more hand engraving running down. And looking under the top section, there is a very discreet plate that can be slid open revealing two key holes. The one in the centre will set the time and the other will wind the cylinder escapement movement that has been painstakingly restored over several months and is now in full working order. From every single angle that you look at this ring watch it will take your breath away and once gone, it is unlikely that you will ever see another let alone one a stunningly beautiful as this. When you hold a genuine antique pocket watch in the palm of your hand, you not only get a sense of its history, but also get to feel the solid heft thanks to the case material as well as the mechanical movement inside, and this antique Waltham pocket watch feels fantastic to hold and admire. Made in a solid 14 carat yellow gold case made for Waltham by J. Depollier and Sons in 1918, the case measures 43mm across by 54.5mm to the top of the bow, and thanks to its slimline case, it will sit perfectly in the pocket as well as the palm of your hand. The dial is all original and has achieved a lovely soft patina and displays both Roman numerals as well as the seconds at the bottom and is still very easy to read. Ulysse Nardin deck watch chronometer with power reserve indicator
Ulysse Nardin was a famous watchmaker in Switzerland in the 1800's who made a name as producing extremely high quality and reliable watch chronometers for both international navies and shipping companies, and here is a fabulous vintage Ulysse Nardin deck chronometer pocket watch in a solid sterling silver case. Offshore the correct time is fundamental in determining the Longitude, as one second difference in the equator represents an error of 30 meters. Deck chronometers are big and very precise pocket watches, synchronised with the Marine Chronometer were used by the ship’s Captain to know the exact time on Deck in order to locate and also brought with him when landed to make sure no one changed the official time of the ship while in his absence. Made in 1950, the case measures 63mm across by 89.5mm from the bottom to the top of the bow, and has an incredible heft that feels magnificent in to hold in the palm of your hand. With a truly amazing tactile feel to it, this is certainly a conversation starter to all who see and admire it. With the clean white dial displaying traditional black Roman numerals and the sub-seconds at the bottom, just under the 12 o'clock position is a power reserve indicator. The movement is a hand wound pin set style that allows for the time to be set by pressing in the button near the 11 o'clock position and turning the hands to set the time. Releasing this button, will then allow it to be wound. Vintage Hebdomas 8-day pocket watch made in the 1960’s
Hebdomas started producing pocket watches in Switzerland in 1888 and in the early 1900's released their now infamous pocket watch with an astonishing 8-day power reserve, and here is a very stylish vintage Hebdomas 8-day pocket watch made in the 1960's. With their iconic dial showing a visible escapement, the dial is so clean and easy to read with the floral design on each side, and of course the escapement which is such a showpiece of their design. Antique L. Marchand 18 carat gold pocket watch made in the 1860’s
This very stylish antique pocket watch was made by L. Marchand in the 1860's and has just come back from a full service and runs beautifully even after being made 160 years ago. Rare 18 carat yellow gold Omega chrono-tachymetre pocket watch
Here we are proud to offer this extremely rare antique 18 carat yellow gold Omega chrono-tachymetre pocket watch that was made in 1916 and is in exceptional condition and unlikely ever to be found is such condition any time soon. To begin with the solid 18 carat yellow gold case measures 53.4mm across by 73.6mm to the top of the bow and has an elegant engine turned case back which still has such has such a nice crisp feel to it. With an incredibly solid and tactile feel to it, the pocket watch weighs 93 grams and feels amazing to hold in the palm of your hand. Then there is the dial which is just so incredibly impressive to admire from near or far and is still in immaculate condition even after 100 years has passed. Displaying not only the time, this pocket watch his called a chrono-tachymetre. With a tachymeter able to measure speed, and a chronometer able to measure time, combine them both and the result is the spectacular dial you see before you. Of interesting note, the dial is not only signed "Omega", but also signed “Cadran Breveté S.G.D.G.” which is the abbreviation of “Sans garantie du gouvernement” which translates to “Without government guarantee”. This was the term used under French law since 1844 and designates that it was assigned for the French market and colonies only. And then inside is the most impressive and incredible manual wind Omega 18" P CHRO movement which was first made by Omega in 1906. Measuring just 7.15mm thick, this incredible movement is all original, has been completely serviced and comes with our twelve month warranty. It is incredible to think what was achieved by Omega at a time where computers were unheard of and all the components inside were meticulously thought out and planned to create this wonderful masterpiece.
