Moonstone is unlike any other gemstone that has been prized for centuriesand is often a milky white colour with a soft blue tone running through it, as well as having a wonderful visual phenomenon called adularescence, which is best described as a glow from below the surface, giving the impression of moonlight floating on water- hence its name, and here is a very attractive and elegant antique moonstone fringe necklace dating from the 1890's. Set in a hand made setting in 9 carat gold, there are eleven pieces of moonstone running across the top with seven hanging below with a final tear shaped drop piece at the bottom. The quality of these moonstones is superb as often moonstone today has many inclusions in them, whereas these not only have the most beautiful colour but are so clean that will make it be appreciated even more. Measuring 47cm from end to end allows this necklace to sit just perfectly on the neckline with a beautiful fluid movement to it. The design combined with the colour from all of the moonstones make it so elegant and this is a piece of jewellery that will look so good during the day and just as beautiful in the evening when worn for that special occasion. Here is an absolutely incredible antique necklace that is truly a one of a kind and of the finest quality and craftsmanship. Made in France in the early 1900’s, this antique French necklace in gold and platinum and set with pearls sits perfectly around the neck and feels so lovely and tactile to the touch. Not only is it made in 18ct yellow gold, there is also a lovely rose gold and the very rare green gold. Green gold was only used for a relatively short time and was made by alloying the gold with cadmium, resulting in the gold obtaining a lovely soft green hue to it. And then there is the use of platinum giving it an additional pure white colour in the elegant wreath design as well as the oyster shell design. In each of the oyster shells is a pearl which exemplifies the thought and attention that went into making this magnificent necklace all those years ago. Laid out from end to end the necklace measures 42cm and from one end where there is one oyster shell across to the other, this distance measures 22cm. Sitting absolutely perfect around the neck, this antique necklace is one of the finest that you will ever find and is just spectacular to admire from near or far. Stock# ES7306 Circa: 1910 $27,500

Here is by far one of the most spectacular antique necklaces that we have ever seen let alone been privileged to offer for sale and one that is so unique and special, there will be no other quite like it in the world. This amazing necklace was made in 18ct yellow gold in France towards the end of the 19th Century and is made up of the most intricate designed necklace that measures a wonderful 51cm from end to end. However sitting proud in the centre is the most exquisite section firstly made up with natural turquoise leading down to a lock style piece set with more turquoise and garnets with the centre set with a piece of phrenite which is partially cabochon meaning domes top while also being partially facetted around the sides. Phrenite was first discovered in 1788 and has a wonderful soft green colour that matches so well with the gold and turquoise and garnets. Turning this section over reveals a locket section for a photo of a loved one that will make it even more personal and special. Then below this section is the key on one side and heart on the other, which has the romantic sentiment of "key to my heart". This romantic gesture goes one step further by revealing that the heart actually opens up into a locket and looking close will show how much detail and time went into making this locket. To give perspective on the locket, it measures an incredible 10.5mm by 9.1mm wide. From the top row of turquoise down to the heart locket, this distance measures 8cm and on the neck, this antique necklace looks absolutely amazing and is truly like nothing else and is just spectacular. Antique jewellery is so special and this one is just incredible. Stock# T728 Circa: 1895 $23,800
