Exceptional antique coral necklace with lockets behind each one

$12,200.00

Here is a truly exceptional antique necklace that gets more and more exciting the closer you look at it, and is destined to become a much loved and treasured family heirloom.

Dating from the mid-Victorian period of the 1860’s, this exquisite necklace was made in 15 carat gold, with the colour of the gold having the most wonderful tone that not only look superb when worn around the neck, but is complimented perfectly by the rich colour of the natural coral.

The five drop sections stand out so beautifully and are all connected not just at the top by the tactile chain, but also a lower section of chain that drapes delicately between each one. The detail that is in each of the surrounding settings is typical of high-quality Victorian jewellery of this era, and with a further piece of coral suspended at the bottom of each, this is certainly a necklace that will stand out from near or far and get the attention and admiration that it rightly deserves.

And then turning the necklace over reveals a breathtaking feature – behind each coral piece is a locket compartment that will make this necklace so much more personal and treasured each and every time that it is worn.

Measuring 38cm from end to end, to complete the package, this necklace comes complete with its original fitted velvet lined box stamped with the maker of Edwards in Glasgow.

This necklace is a spectacular example of mid-Victorian jewellery of the highest standard, and one that will be worn with pride.
