Antique 10 carat gold pocket watch key with a swivel

This is a very charming antique pocket watch key that can not only be used to wind a pocket watch, but can so easily be worn as a pendant or attached to a bracelet on its own or with others to create a very special and unique charm bracelet.
Made in the 1870’s, it is made from rolled gold where the gold is rolled and bonded to the metal shape making it hard and durable to wind the pocket watch, all the while having the gold on the outside to give it such a lustrous finish. On one side there is an enamel cross and border in a lovely soft powder blue colour that is highlighted by a hand engraved background, and the other side is just as beautiful with its own hand engraved pattern. And then to make this even more special, it opens to reveal a secret locket compartment inside. This really is such an incredible piece that is even more wonderful when you consider that it was made over 150 years ago and is as exciting today as when it was made.
Measuring 35mm in length by 12.7mm wide at the centre, no matter how this is used or worn, there is little doubt that it will always remain such a wonderful conversation starter.

Antique pocket watch key with a locket and intaglio of the Cootes family
Here is such a wonderful and exciting antique pocket watch key that is that and so much more.
Made in 18 carat yellow gold in the 1870's, not only does this have a pocket watch key that can rotate into itself securely, but it also has a locket on one side and a carved intaglio seal on the other.
The bloodstone intaglio has the Latin phrase "Vincit Veritas" which translates to "Truth conquers" and with this as well as the bird sitting on the top of the intaglio and other aspects of it, leads it to the being the family seal of the Cootes, which actually goes as far back as 1066.
With the locket on the other side having a dome front to magnify the image, and a beautiful design at the top, this would of course not only suit a pocket watch, but make a wonderful and very unique and special locket.
Measuring 19.5mm wide by 38.3mm, this piece is as beautiful as it is exciting.
