Jewellery made during the Art Deco period from the 1920's through to the 1940's often resulted in taking a traditional design and making it "modern" such as in this Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring made in the 1930's. Hand made in 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, instead of having one row of diamonds surrounding the sapphire in the centre, there are actually two clusters of diamonds - the inner cluster being set with five single cut diamonds and the outer row being set with twelve single cut diamonds. These diamonds come together to total 0.46 carats and the sapphire in the centre measures 0.16 carats. Sitting perfectly on the finger, the cluster section at the top measures 11.6mm by 10mm across and leads to the gorgeous tapered band. Made by the English jewellery company A.W Crosbee and Sons, this is a delightful and charming example of the beauty of Art Deco jewellery. Art Deco 18 carat rose gold sapphire and diamond ring
This ring looks amazing on the finger thanks to not only the design, but the beautiful colour from the rose gold. Hand made in France in the 1920's, the ring was made in 18 carat rose gold. Sitting in the centre on the ring is a vibrant natural blue cushion cut sapphire that measures 0.65 carats, and displays such a fine royal blue colour. And then set on each side is a European cut diamond that highlights the ring perfectly. These two diamonds total 1.12 carats and sparkle magnificently and have the added charm and character of being genuine antique cut diamonds. Measuring 15.4mm wide at the centre, the ring tapers down to 4.7mm wide at the back and with the triple band design, there is no doubt that this ring will always be loved and admired every single time that it is worn.
