Dating from the 1880's, the locket measures 32.5mm across by 48.3mm or 62.7mm to the very top of the bail for it to be connected to a chain or a collar (as is in one of the images), this will surprise so many people when they discover that this is a locket as it will be seen more as a pendant than a locket. The detail and design is just incredible and a real testament to the jewellers and what they could create over 140 years ago.
Set with six seed pearls, the beautiful scroll work around the setting adds to the charm and character of an already exceptional antique locket.
