Here is a beautiful antique diamond engagement ring that was made 135 years ago, and looks as beautiful today as when it was made and is set with the beautiful mine cut diamonds.
Mine cut diamonds were first cut at the start of the 18th century and were the first diamond to have fifty eight facets like today's modern round brilliant cut diamond. The mine cut diamond is also known as cushion cut diamonds and so-called as they are not perfectly round and resemble a cushion shape around the side. So full of charm and character combined with being cut entirely by hand, there is nothing quite like genuine antique mine cut diamonds.
The diamonds total 1.07 carats, and the ring was hand made in 18 carat yellow gold and has the most elegant claw setting from the side which not only looks so beautiful but also allows the maximum amount of light to enter and dance through each of the diamonds.
Measuring 5.5mm wide at the centre by 16mm across, this ring sits perfect on the finger and is such a delightful and charming example of a genuine antique diamond engagement ring.

Antique mine cut diamond engagement ring made in 1885
This antique diamond engagement ring was hand made in 18 carat yellow gold. Set with mine cut diamonds, the mine cut diamond was invented at the start of the 18th century. In recent years, mine cut diamonds and European cut diamonds have become so popular for engagement rings, that both cuts of diamonds are being cut today in modern diamond cutting workshops around the world. The mine cut diamond is also known as cushion cut diamonds and so-called as they are not perfectly round and resemble a cushion shape around the side. So full of charm and character combined with being cut entirely by hand, there is nothing quite like genuine antique mine cut diamonds.
