This antique ruby and diamond brooch was made in Birmingham in 1896, this antique brooch is still in wonderful condition and will look so elegant on any outfit and be perfect to wear for any time of the day or night as well as for any occasion, both formal and informal.

Made in 15 carat gold, 15 carat gold was used in England between 1854 until 1931 making it a relatively short-run carat of gold, making this brooch even more wonderful and unique.

Measuring 42.2mm across by 14mm, it is set with four natural rubies that total 0.16 carats, as well as three rose cut diamonds that total 0.03 carats and add the right amount of sparkle to the brooch.

This is one brooch that is so typical of the elegance of the late-Victorian era in which it was made, and will always be admired for its beauty and charm.

Antique ruby and diamond brooch made in 1896

This antique ruby and diamond brooch was made in the late Victorian period in Birmingham in 1896. Made in 15 carat gold, 15 carat gold was used in England between 1854 until 1941, making it a relatively short-lived carat of gold. This ruby and diamond brooch is set with rose cut diamonds, which are one of the earliest cuts of diamonds that were first developed as far back in India towards the end of the 15th Century and perfected in the diamond cutting workshops in Antwerp.
