Hand engraved antique locket
$1,250.00
So often you can look at an antique and admire the quality of the work, however it is easy to overlook the sentiment that s behind many of the designs that were used. Historically ivy was used to represent ever lasting love, friendship or marriage, and the front of this photo locket has been so beautifully hand engraved with ivies all over.
Made in sterling silver in the late 1800’s, the time and attention to detail to hand engrave this locket would have been immense and shows just how beautiful hand engraving is over machine engraving or simply stamped out.
Measuring 39.5mm across by 49.8mm to the top of the bail, inside it can hold two photos, that once placed inside, adds to the personal charm of the locket even more.
This is such a beautiful antique locket that has a wonderful sentiment attached.
