1969 Longines Admiral 5 star automatic watch

The Longines Admiral “5 star” was developed by Longines in the late 1960’s as a watch targeted for its jet-setting clientele who were after a durable yet elegant watch with a high grade movement and the Admiral was born.

This Longines Admiral was made in 1969 in a 34mm stainless steel “C” case meaning that instead of being completely round, the sides of the case make more of a large C shape – think Gerald Genta and his iconic Omega Constellation C case shaped watches. This not only gives the case a lovely sleek look, but also makes it appear larger on the wrist.

With its stylish dial with the the elegant sweep centre seconds and date window, around the edge of the dial the minute markers are in red and of course has those five stars at the bottom.

Powered by the automatic Longines calibre 505 movement, this movement has been completely serviced by our in-house watchmakers, runs perfectly and comes with our two year warranty.

A wonderful feature about this movement, is setting the date is actually done by pushing the crown in to move the date forward, rather than pulling the crown out and turning the hands – another wonderful innovention by Longines.

Still perfect to wear while crossing the Atlantic at 40,000 feet, in a boardroom meeting or casual, this is a great example of a vintage Longines watch that has been designed and developed perfectly.
