Omega Constellation watch reference 168.029 linen dial

First launched by Omega in 1952, the Omega Constellation has remained their highest grade of watch, and here we have a very stylish vintage Omega Constellation watch reference 168.029 dating from 1968 with the very rare and hard to find linen dial.

The linen dial is like the name implies one where the dial has a very soft and subtle linen look and texture to it and on its own looks fantastic.

Then there is of course the fact that this is an Omega Constellation which has always used the highest grade and quality of movement ever produced by Omega. On top of this, the case has a great style and look to it and is called the Constellation III or Constellation "C" case, as it was both the third design for the Omega Constellation and its shape from end to end resembles the letter "C" by being rounded all the way to the lugs.

The case measures 35mm across plus the Omega crown but thanks to the shape of the case this makes it appear larger and sits so well on the wrist.

It is fitted on the original Omega band that had been shortened so an extension clip has been added if needed, however as it is secured by spring bars, this can be easily removed if not needed and this will not have any affect on the band or its strength at all.

Inside is the brilliant 24 jewelled automatic Omega calibre 564 that has just come back from a full service, runs perfect and comes with our twelve month warranty.

A fantastic vintage Omega Constellation that is just perfect.

Description

Omega Constellation watch reference 168.029 linen dial

The progenitor of the Constellation line is without doubt the appropriately named "Century", a limited edition self-winding chronometer wristwatch launched in 1948 to celebrate the firm's 100th anniversary. This watch, not intended for series production, was greeted with such enthusiasm that the decision was taken to create a watch with all the same qualities on an industrial scale. It started with the movements, which were all self-winding chronometers that had received the mention of "Especially good results" during testing.

The line would soon develop into a series of watches which were finished to different degrees. The Constellation available in steel or gold, the Constellation Deluxe only available in gold with applied gold indexes on the dial and finally the Constellation Grand Luxe, which was available in gold and platinum with corresponding dial and the so-called "Brick link" bracelet. The Grand Luxe model was delivered in a solid silver presentation box.

We suggest every 5 years to a maximum of 8 years.
Omega recommends that a complete service of your watch should be done every 5 to 8 years. If the watch is worn in water, we advise that the water resistance checked every year.
