Victorian era sapphire and diamond ring

$23,500.00

What a truly magnificent ring that will be loved and admired from every angle that you look at it.

Hand made in 18 carat yellow gold in the Victorian era of the 1890’s, this is a ring that is truly breathtaking and shows the quality of not just the sapphire and diamonds, but the  incredible attention to detail that went into making this ring.

Sitting proudly in the centre is a magnificent natural sapphire that measures 1.97 carats and not only has the most perfect blue colour, but is also unheat treated.

For centuries people have known that if you put a sapphire or ruby into a fire it will improve its colour and clarity, and people have been heat treating sapphires and rubies ever since for this reason. This treatment is worldwide accepted as a normal treatment and not deceiving in any way and is accepted as a standard treatment for sapphires and rubies as it remains stable and does not damage the stone. However having a sapphire that is as perfect in colour when it was mined all those years ago, then this adds so much more to the charm and allure of the ring.

Then the charm is further increased by being set with six mine cut diamonds that total 1.36 carats and then to make this ring even more astonishing it is set with four small and charming rose cut diamonds to add to the charm and sparkle and add an extra 0.04 carats of diamond weight.

Then from the sides this ring has the most incredible and beautiful scroll work that is so highly detailed and shows what magnificent work could be achieved well over a century ago.

This is truly such a breathtaking ring that will make a wonderful engagement ring as well as so easily suit being worn on any other finger for any other occasion.
