A brief history on the Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 as taken from the Omega book:
Launched in 1972, the automatic Omega Seamaster Cosmic 2000 was characterised both by the exclusive watertight system of large gaskets insuring an absolute water-resistance down to 60 metres (sic) and by the originality of the method to fasten the movement to the case: the movement is held in a separate “container” maintained by an O-ring gasket on the inner side of the separate case middle. The mineral crystal and the case back are also set into a special water-resistant synthetic sleeve.
