Here is an exquisite handmade diamond engagement ring set with antique diamonds and made using the same techniques as they used over 100 years ago, and is so well made that people who admire it will have trouble believing that it is a new ring rather than an antique. The quality of work in this ring is evident from every single angle that you look and admire this ring and it is simply breathtaking at the level of detail and craftsmanship that was put into making this ring by a true master jeweller. Along with the detail that can only be achieved in hand making a ring, using antique diamonds helped complete that look a of a genuine antique diamond engagement ring. And then on each side are three single cut diamonds that total 0.16 carats and add that extra sparkle and highlight the detail in this ring. These diamonds having a millgrain finish which is the elegant crimping along the edge of the setting which adds such an incredible amount of charm and character to the ring. Here is a truly magnificent and very unique handmade reproduction engagement ring set with antique diamonds. Today rings can be made in two ways - either mass produced cast made using a wax carving either carved by hand or CAD designed, or hand made. The advantage of a ring that has been hand made is in the quality and detail. Not only is the gold or platinum stronger as there is no air bubbles or porosity often found in cast made rings, but the detail that can be achieved can be breathtaking. With this ring, not only was it handmade to an extremely high standard, but it was made using techniques employed by jewellers over 100 years ago. Sitting proudly in the centre is a vibrant antique European cut diamond that measures 0.57 carats and is H in colour and Si in clarity and has the unique charm and character of being a diamond that was cut by hand over 100 years ago. The side diamonds are the early single cut diamonds and total 0.13 carats and were millgrain set which can be seen in the elegant crimping along the setting, which was a popular technique years ago. Then there is the 16 carat gold and platinum that this ring was made from. The story of how we came about our own 16 carat gold is published here and well worth a read: https://www.kalmarantiques.com.au/articles/our-own-16-carat-rose-gold/ Platinum is such a wonderful pure precious metal that goes so well with the very soft rose colour from our 16 carat gold, creating such a unique and special ring. This is a ring that our master jeweller created, and we are more than happy to it down and design and make that perfect ring for you. The standard of quality in this ring is unparalleled and to such a high standard. Stock# ES8323 $7,350

Here is a truly beautifully hand made Edwardian designed diamond engagement ring set with antique diamonds that is perfect for someone who wants a new ring, but made in the exact style as 100 years ago. Not only is this ring hand made in 18ct yellow gold and platinum, but the major point of difference between this antique reproduction engagement ring and many others on the market today, is that it has been made using the same technique as what was used a century ago as well as being set with genuine antique cut diamonds. In the centre is a vibrant antique mine cut diamond that measures 0.55 carats and is F in colour and VS in clarity. Not only is this a very white and clean diamond, however it is also a genuine mine cut diamond from over 100 years ago that suits this ring perfectly. Even the three diamonds on each side are worthy to note. Not only is the setting absolutely beautiful, but the diamonds are the earlier antique single cut diamonds which were used in the early 1900's. As there was not the technology back then to cut diamonds that small with 58 facets like today, the single cut diamonds were used and compliment not only the detail but the ring as a whole in keeping true to its design. These additional diamonds total 0.08 carats and lead to the elegant yellow gold band. From every angle and side, this diamond engagement ring will always be loved, admired and cherished. This is a ring that our master jeweller created, and we are more than happy to it down and design and make that perfect ring for you. Stock# ES8000 $6,950

Here is a very beautiful antique style 3 stone diamond engagement ring that has been made by one of our jewellers in an exact style of an original Art Deco diamond engagement ring and set with three lovely antique cut diamonds. This ring is an exact copy of an original antique one and not only has all the detail but also genuine antique diamonds. Jewellery today is often cast made where the pieces are mass produced and although this has the advantage of bringing the cost down to make a ring, however the quality in the fine detail will not be there and there is a chance that the metal has porosity which are minute air bubbles in the metal causing weakness, so a hand made ring has so many more advantages. And this ring was not just entirely hand made, but made in platinum which is not just the purest of all the precious metals used in jewellery, but also allows the fine detail that can be seen on the side be made all the while retaining the strength for the diamonds. In total there are three lovely European cut diamonds which have the same 58 facets as today's modern round brilliant cut diamond, but with slightly different angles and the centre diamond measures 0.91 carats and the diamonds on each side measures 0.56 carats and 0.52 carats. These diamonds are G to H in colour and VS in clarity meaning that they are in the white range of colour and are nice and clean with no eye visible inclusions. And of course they have the added charm of being genuine antique European cut diamonds that were cut by hand over 100 years ago and are being used to bring a new ring to life. When you look at the detail on the sides, set among the beautiful scroll work is a single cut diamond to add to the charm and character and is exactly as the original ring had. Then to complete the perfection, the sides have the most beautiful detail and craftsmanship and from the top measures 17mm from left to right by 6.8mm wide. This is such a beautiful diamond engagement ring that has the past and the present combined in one beautiful ring. Stock# ES6925 $Sold.
