9ct gold antique bloodstone seal made in 1901
$1,550.00
Going as far back as ancient Roman times, seals were originally used when someone was wanting to “seal” an envelope by pressing their seal into warm wax as it was dripped onto the envelope, therefore preventing anyone else from opening or tampering with it without breaking the seal, and here is a lovely antique 9ct rose gold bloodstone seal made in 1901.
Now with the perfect look to be worn on a necklace or an Albert/fob chain around the neck, the detail in this one is just amazing.
More often than not, these antique seals were gold lined/filled, however this one is made in 9 carat gold, and this one bears not only the gold carat stamp, but also the date and county hallmarks for being made in Chester in 1901.
Measuring 28.8mm high, the base measures 21.2mm by 18.6mm and is set with bloodstone which has a green colour with red flecks and left as is or engraved always looks great.
This antique seal is in wonderful condition and no matter where or how it is worn or used, this will always be admired.
