Antique coral and pearl brooch by Harris & Sprunt

$2,750.00

What an elegant and sophisticated brooch made all the more wonderful by being made by an early Australian jeweller and having the most amazing safety pin that is a piece of jewellery unto itself.

Made in the 1920’s by Harris & Sprunt in 15 carat gold, the colour of the gold has such a lovely warm colour that is the perfect match for the coral and pearls.

Harris & Sprunt operated their workshop in Melbourne from 1913 until 1925, and created some wonderful pieces of jewellery as can be seen here in this brooch.

The brooch measures 7.2cm in length by 1.5cm at its widest point in the centre making the size of this alone sure to be admired each time that it is worn, and then there is the safety chain and pin attached to it, with the pin also being set with a piece of natural coral, and this pin measures 4.4cm in length.

Today much of the coral on the market is often dyed, however the coral used in this brooch are all natural and with the charming seed pearls to compliment it, this is such an elegant brooch that will be perfect to wear day or night.

A truly wonderful piece of early Australian jewellery that will always be cherished.
