Dating from the late Victorian era of the 1890’s, comes this very elegant and versatile antique rose gold muff chain. Also known as a guard chain, these long chains were used to hold a woolen muff to keep the hand warms or an antique pocket watch.
This particular guard chain was made in 9ct rose gold and from end to end measures 158cm in length so as it is doubled up, it hangs to just under 90cm. This length allows it to be worn long or doubled up making these antique chains so versatile.
Finding these in all original length and in good condition is becoming harder and harder, and this one is just perfect in all respects.
