Rose gold hammer finish night and day curb link bracelet made in 1908

15 carat natural turquoise necklace from the Arts and Crafts era
The Arts and Crafts period coincided with Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods and differs to the two by having more of a naturalistic look to it, and here is a very attractive turquoise necklace from the Arts and Crafts era. Hand made in 15 carat rose gold, the necklace is set with natural turquoise displaying the host matrix running through the stone. More often than not, turquoise today is dyed to completely remove this natural vein running through the stone making these two pieces so much more attractive and unique. This works perfectly with the overall design of the piece and adds so much more charm and character than jewellery that it mass produced today. The main part measures 21.7mm across by 61.5mm from the lower piece of turquoise to the top gold section that is connected to the chain, and laid out from end to end the chain itself measures 48cm in length, allowing the turquoise section to sit perfectly on the neckline. Antique double sided turquoise and ruby locket made in the 1860’s
This beautiful antique double sided locket was made in the 1860's at the height of what is called the "Romantic period" of the Victorian era, and is so beautiful on each side and has such a wonderful tactile feel to it. Made in 9 carat gold, one side is set with a turquoise and the other a cluster of turquoise surrounding a ruby. Both sides have an engine turned design that leads to the border which is so beautifully carved and the entire locket is still in exceptional condition which is made all the more amazing when you consider that it was made over 170 years ago. Measuring 21.7mm across by 32.5mm, inside it still holds an original lock of hair, and while many might consider this mourning jewellery, this is not necessarily the case as hair was often given to loved ones a token of love and with the bright blue turquoise and the absence of black, this all points away from mourning jewellery. While the hair can be taken out and replaced with a photo, it is still a lovely reminder of a beautiful time gone by. Regardless of which way is worn facing the front, there is little doubt that it will always be loved and admired. Stock# ES8842 Circa: 1860 $2,150
