Art Deco diamond brooch made in platinum in the 1920's

So beautifully hand made, this brooch measures 7cm in length by 1.2cm wide at the centre and is set with a large 1.40 carat European cut diamond in the centre which certainly catches the light and is by no means a small diamond. And then to highlight the intricate detail and work that went into making this brooch, there are an additional thirty eight more European cut diamonds that come together to total an impressive 4.18 carats. Not only does this bring the total diamond weight to 5.58 carats, but the setting itself is so incredibly elegant and could only have been achieved by being made in platinum which has the ability to be drawn into such a fine wire, all the while being able to retain the strength to support all of the diamonds.

The detail in this brooch is just extraordinary and a true testament to what could be achieved in the wonderful Art Deco period of the 1920's.
