Antique diamond Fleur-de-lis ring

Magnificently hand made in 18ct yellow gold and silver in the early 1800's, it was known that a diamond will always look better set against a white background over yellow gold and as white gold was not yet invented and platinum although already discovered, was not used in jewellery at this time this is why silver was used on the top to set the diamonds into.

The Fleur-de-lis is most often associated with France and it is befitting that this ring bears hallmarks for being made in France, and set with diamonds on a cobalt blue enamel background really makes it stand out magnificently. Then there are the additional diamonds set into the border and what makes this ring even more special is the clever use of two different cuts of diamonds for the fleur-de-lis and the border.

In total there are thirty mine cut diamonds set into the border, and 25 rose cut diamonds set into the fleur-de-lis. Both of these cuts were done by hand and it really was a unique and clever and no doubt painstaking task to accumulate not only two different cuts of diamonds, but also also ones that match perfectly in size.

The top of the ring measures 14.4mm wide by 26.2mm and really accentuates the finger so well.
