Antique emerald and pearl locket
This antique photo locket was made in the 1870’s and will look so beautiful on a chain or even a large, thick collar, and regardless of what type of necklace it is worn on, there is no doubt that it will always be loved and admired.
Made in 18 carat gold, running across the centre are six natural emeralds that total 0.15 carats and are highlighted by the eight seed pearls set into that beautiful design on the top and bottom. Even the way the pearl section radiates outwards and the pearls graduate in size shows how much thought and attention to detail was put into making this locket 150 years ago.
Measuring 25.2mm across by 31.5mmplus the bail for a chain to pass through, opening it up reveals two photo sections that once placed inside will make it even more special and personal to the wearer.
This is a wonderful example of mid-Victorian jewellery that is so unique and beautiful.
