Here is a very beautiful and unique antique emerald and pearl ring made in 1869 that looks so good on the finger and will amaze people when they discover how old it is.
It is incredible to think that this ring was made in 1869 and can still be worn every day. Made in 15ct gold, the ring measures 5.8mm wide at the top and tapers down so elegantly to 3.1mm wide at the back of the ring.
Set with three natural emeralds in such a distinct setting, on each side are two pearls that are again set into such an amazing design. The beautiful border around both the emeralds and the pearls really makes this ring stand out as does the small gold balls on each side giving this ring a somewhat Gothic look and feel to it.
In wonderful condition, this is a fabulous example of a mid-Victorian ring that looks as good today as when it was made all those years ago.

Antique emerald and pearl ring made in 1869
This antique emerald and pearl ring was made in 15 carat gold. 15 carat gold as well as the rarely seen 12 carat, was used for a relatively short time in jewellery in the UK and was used between 1854 to 1931. After 1931 the standard of gold went to 14 carat as well as still using both 9 and 18 carat gold which were in use.
