Antique gold double sided photo locket made in 1913

This antique photo locket was made in Birmingham in 1913 and shows the beginnings of the straight designs often seen in the upcoming Art Deco period of the 1920’s and looks as fashionable today as when it was made.

Whereas many antique lockets are stamped “9ct back and front” meaning there is a base metal plate between, this one is in solid 9 carat rose gold, with the gold itself having that lovely soft, warm colour to it that is so prized and sought after.

Able to hold two photos inside, the locket measures 21mm across by 28mm plus the link for a chain to pass through.

With a lovely line design on both sides, this is a gorgeous example of an antique photo locket that will suit any time to be worn with love.
