Made in 15 carat gold, the colour of the gold alone is beautiful as it has that lovely warm tone to it that not only suits the pearls suspended at the bottom of each drop, but looks lovely set against the skin.
In total there are twenty nine drop pieces with the shortest measuring 15mm in length and the longest one in the centre measuring 62mm. Laid out from end to end the necklace measures 39cm making this sit beautifully around the neckline and showcasing all the wonderful drop sections each set with a natural pearl at the end.
With a seductive and elegant sway to the necklace when it is around the neck, this piece displays the epitome of the romance and elegance of the Art Deco period of the fabulous 1920’s.

The fringe necklace is a style of necklace that has been found as far back 300BC. The fringe necklace is a design that is worn close to the neck and incorporates a series of pendants that hang down. The discover of King Tutankhamun’s tomb is 1922 by Howard Carter resulted in the Egyptian style to be embraced by jewellers of the Art Deco period. Jewellery made with an ancient Egyptian style is often called “Egyptian Revival” and this influence can be seen here in this Art Deco fringe necklace. Set with natural pearls and diamonds, the style has both the Art Deco design as well as being influenced by the discoveries of ancient Egypt.
