Sterling silver opal doublet ring attributed to Rhoda Wager
$0.00
Here is a very beautiful sterling silver opal doublet ring attributed to Rhoda Wager, and dating from the 1930’s.
Rhoda Wager was born in England in 1875 and moved to Australia and set up her own jewellery workshop producing pieces of jewellery in the form of rings, bracelets, necklaces and brooches between 1921 to 1946 and here we have a fabulous ring that can easily be attributed to her.
Even though her rings were not signed with her mark, she had such a distinct style with her designs and her somewhat “signature hallmark” of the double bands put on rings such as with this one here, that this can so easily be attributed to her.
Measuring 18.6mm across by 19.5mm, in the centre is a gorgeous opal doublet that has such amazing and intense spectral colours emanating from it that looks more and more beautiful the closer you get to it.
With a wonderful vine design wrapping around the border leading to her signature double band, this is a wonderful piece of Australian jewellery by one of Australia’s more sought after jewellers.
