Vintage Omega Seamaster 145.024 “Flat Jedi” watch

Made in stainless steel in 1970, this is the Omega Seamaster chronograph that has the affectionate moniker of being called the “Flat Jedi” watch.

While of course this model nor any other Omega watches were worn in any of the Star Wars movies, the Omega reference 145.023 became known as the “Darth Vader” due to its black case and dial, with another version of the same model being known as the “Anakin Skywalker”, and this model here is affectionally known as the “Flat Jedi” due to of course its lower, flatter profile than the other models.

The stainless steel case measures 40mm across and looks even more amazing with the white hands and orange seconds counter that compliments the orange index markers. As we are an official Omega watch service centre, the infamous manual wind seventeen jewelled Omega calibre 861 – the exact same movement that is in the iconic vintage Omega Moonwatches – has been completely serviced by our in-house watchmakers and comes with our two year warranty.

And the case has been expertly and importantly correctly polished with the soleil finish. Also known as a sunburst or radial finish, this is a finish to the watch case that gives that amazing sunburst look and can only be done using a lapping wheel which of course we have in our workshop. This not only gives the correct finish to a watch case, but also prevents rounded edges to the case and there are two additional images of the case just after being polished showing how good the case now looks – just like it did when it left Omega in 1970.

This is a great example of a vintage Omega that not only looks as good today as when it was made, but will also be such an eye-catching watch that will always be admired and certainly a wonderful conversation starter.
